Cookie Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website or use a web application. They help the service remember information about your visit — like whether you are logged in — so you don't have to re-enter it every time. Cookies are widely used by websites and apps to make them work properly or to work more efficiently.

2. Cookies We Use

AiWitness uses a minimal set of cookies, strictly limited to what is necessary to provide the service and understand how it is used:

Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. They include:

  • Authentication session token: Keeps you logged in across page loads (Supabase auth token). Expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity.
  • Security tokens: CSRF protection tokens to prevent cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • User preferences: Stores your display preferences (such as theme settings) locally.

Analytics Cookies

We use anonymized, privacy-preserving analytics to understand how the platform is used and where we can improve it. These cookies:

  • Track page views and feature usage in aggregate only
  • Do not identify you personally
  • Are not shared with any third-party advertising network
  • Can be disabled without affecting core platform functionality

3. What We Do NOT Use

AiWitness has a strict no-advertising-cookie policy. We do not use:

  • Google Ads or any Google advertising cookies
  • Facebook Pixel or any Meta tracking cookies
  • Any advertising network cookies of any kind
  • Cross-site tracking cookies
  • Social media tracking pixels

We do not sell cookie data or any data derived from cookies to any third party, ever.

4. How to Control Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to AiWitness.

To clear or manage cookies in your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data → See all cookies and site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data

You can also use browser extensions that block or manage cookies on a per-site basis.
